Read terms and conditions that govern our services

Rental terms and conditionsadd

All rentals are subject to the terms and conditions of the rental agreement and to the discretion of SRC Rent Car regard to a correct qualification of the Customer. All prices are in euro and include Vat 22%.

Requirements requiredadd

Age
For A A1 B B1 C D E F groups the driver’s age should be between 24 and 75 years old, for H L N S T –  V groups the driver’s age should be between 25 and 75 years old, however, for some groups, some exceptions allowed upon the payment of the supplement “Young/old driver”.

Driving license
A valid B category driving license will be required at the time of signing the rental agreement. Driving license must be legible, must contain European characters, and must be issued at least six months earlier than rental date. Copies or any paper substitutes will not be accepted.

Identity document
When signing the rental agreement, the driver of the car must present a valid identity card or passport. Copies or any paper substitutes will not be accepted.

In addition, all rates include a maximum liability for damage, and a maximum liability for theft and fire, within the limits of a franchise which varies in function of the group rented:

  • Car groups: AA1BB1 damage excess € 1.200,00
  • Car groups: CD EF damage excess € 1.500,00
  • Car groups: HLMNS T damage excess € 1.700,00
  • Minivan group V damage excess € 2.000,00

 

  • Car groups: AA1BB1 theft and fire excess € 1.700,00
  • Car groups: CD EF theft and fire excess € 1.900,00
  • Car groups: HLMNS T theft and fire excess € 2.200,00
  • Minivan group V theft and fire excess € 2.500,00

 

It is possible to reduce these deductibles subscribing liability reductions damage, theft and fire, alternatively it is possible to zero these deductibles subscribing SUPER FULL Protection according to the conditions set out in the rental agreement.

The car group reserved from the Customer will be always delivered, however is not available, due to force majeure, will be replaced with a higher category.

No refunds will be paid by SRC Rent Car if the Customer does not use the whole period booked.

Paymentsadd

Credit card
The driver must submit, when signing the rental agreement, a credit card under his name. It is allowed to use business or third part credit cards, showing a proper proxy form with a copy of the ID of the card owner. The payment of the rental deposits via the main financial credit cards: Master Card, Visa, JCB, American Express, Diners Club and Discover. ATM cards, prepaid cards and debit cards are treated as cash, so they follow the rules provided for the rental cash.

Cash rental
The requirement of a credit card is not mandatory for the rental of groups A A1 B B1 C D E F. To hire these types of cars will be possible to leave a deposit in advance in cash or prepaid cards (Visa Electron and Post pay), debit cards (Maestro, MasterCard Debit, V-Pay and Visa Debit) or ATM cards equal to the value of the car excess, scheduled for the groups mentioned above. SRC Rent Car to guarantee the correct classification of the Customer, also requires copy of the document of identity. For the foreign Customer is also required copy of the round trip flight ticket and voucher hotel confirmation. SRC Rent Car reserves the right not to make the rental in cash in case of no or insufficient qualification of the Customer.

Security depositadd

Rental guarantee
At the signing of the contract there is always a security deposit to guarantee the rental. The amount of the deposit varies according to the vehicle category, the tariff formula chosen and any coverage subscribed. This deposit can be issued with pre-authorization on a credit card, prepaid card or debit card. For some car categories, the issue of the deposit is possible by debit card, debit card, bank transfer or cash. The pre-authorization on the card is not a charge, it is a temporary block of a specific sum, the amount is deducted from the credit limit of the card but is not accounted for, so it does not generate any type of bank movement on the current account.

Times and methods for returning the security deposit
If the security deposit has been issued by pre-authorization, the hold will automatically expires within 21 working days from the transaction date, however, SRC Rent Car will require the release of the pre-authorization within 2 working days from the date of the end of the rental agreement. The time taken to restore time the plafond will depend on the bank circuit to which it belongs.

If the security deposit has been issued by debit card, SRC Rent Car will cancel the transaction or will arrange a bank transfer within 2 working days from the end of the rental agreement. The time taken to re-credit the plafond depends on the credit company that issued the cards.

If the security deposit has been issued by bank transfer, the refund will be ordered in the same way within 2 working days from the end of the rental agreement.

If the security deposit has been issued in cash and the return of the vehicle takes place at the same exit rental station, the return will take place in the same way at the end of the rental agreement. If the vehicle is returned to a different station from the pick up, the refund of the security deposit will be made by bank transfer within 2 working days from the date of the end of the rental agreement.

In case of damaging event
In case of accident, theft, attempted theft, partial or incident caused in general, SRC Rent Car will hold, or cash out, the security deposit until the amount of damages or the outcome of the accident. If the Customer, at the signing of the rental agreement, has not released the full amount of the exemptions against him, once it is established the damaging event at the return of the vehicle, the party must integrate this amount until it reaches its maximum excess of damage or theft and fire.

Insuranceadd

Insurance R.C.A.
SRC Rent Car vehicles are insured for third party liability (R.C.A.) with a maximum coverage for accident of € 26.000.000,00.

Liability reductions and exclusionsadd

SUPER FULL Protection
Exclusion of the Customer’s responsibilities in case of damage to the body, glass, vandalism, interior car, partial and total theft or fire of the car rented. If requested and signed at time of rental, reduces the damage, theft and fire excess to € 0,00. Such exclusion of liability clause in any case does not include any damage caused from misfuelling, atmospherical calamities, to the mechanical parts, to the internal upholstery, to the underside of the vehicle, damage caused by vegetation, tyre damages and as well as the loss of the vehicle’s documents, key and car plate. In case of theft or fire occurred in the Campania region, regardless of the station was supplied, the clause reduces the Customer’s responsibility to 50% of theft excess included in the base rate. The Customer loses, however, all the benefits of liability exclusion policy in case of negligent matter, malice way or having gross fault pursuant to article 1229 c.c., in case of failure to return the keys of the car or the failure to surrender to SRC Rent Car theft report submitted to the competent police authorities, in those cases the Customer is obligated to pay to SRC Rent Car for any damage to the car or, in case of the theft, to pay the full value of the vehicle according to the price Eurotax yellow. Cost is daily and varies according to the vehicle group rented.

Damage liability reduction
Is a conventional reduction of the Customer’s responsibilities in case of damage to the body on the vehicle hired. If requested and signed at time of rental, reduces the damage excess to € 300,00. Such limitation of liability clause in any case does not include any damage caused from misfuelling, atmospherical calamities, vandalism, to the mechanical parts, to the internal upholstery, to the cabin, to the glasses, to the wheels and tyres, to the underside of the vehicle, damage caused by vegetation and as well as the loss of the vehicle’s documents, key and car plate. The Customer loses, however, all the benefits in case of negligent matter, malice way or having gross fault pursuant to article 1229 c.c., in those cases the Customer is obligated to pay to Sicily Rent Car for any damage to the car. In any case of damaging event Customer has to pay € 90,00 which is a “collision and repair fee”. Cost is daily and varies according to the vehicle group rented.

Theft and fire liability reduction
Is a conventional reduction of the Customer’s responsibilities in case of partial and total theft or fire of the vehicle hired. If requested and signed at time of rental, reduces theft and fire excess to € 300,00. In case of theft or fire occurred in the Campania region, regardless of the station was supplied, the clause reduces the Customer’s responsibility to 50% of theft excess included in the base rate. The Customer loses, however, all the benefits of Super T.L.R. in case of negligent matter, malice way or having gross fault pursuant to article 1229 c.c., in case of failure to return the keys to the car or the failure to surrender to SRC Rent Car theft report submitted to the competent police authorities, in those cases the Customer is obligated to pay to SRC Rent Car the full value of the vehicle according to the price Eurotax yellow. In any case of partial or total theft or fire of the vehicle Customer has to pay € 90,00 which is a “collision and repair fee”. Cost is daily and varies in function of the group of this car rented.

Driver protection
Personal coverage, in the event of a passive accident, of the driver and any other person, authorized on the rental contract, who is injured while driving the identified vehicle, within the maximum compensation of € 2.000,00 for medical expenses. An accident is considered to be an event due to a fortuitous, violent and external cause which causes objectively verifiable bodily injury. The protection is valid only if the driver is authorized in accordance with the legal provisions in force.

Vandalism protection
Liability exclusion for direct physical damage sustained by the vehicle as a result of riots, strikes, acts of terrorism and acts of vandalism with the exception of those sustained by the vehicle and its accessories during or resulting from traffic after the occurrence of the event. The Customer loses, however, all the benefits of the protection in case of negligent matter, malice way or having gross fault pursuant to article 1229 c.c. Cost is daily and varies according to the vehicle group rented.

Glass protection
Liability exclusion for the replacement or repair of the crystals as a result of the rupture of the same due to accidental causes or acts of others when the event is not claimable with other security already provided in the policy. The warranty is only for the following windows: windshield, rear window and side windows. The Customer loses, however, all the benefits of the protection in case of negligent matter, malice way or having gross fault pursuant to article 1229 c.c. Cost is daily and varies according to the vehicle group rented.

Tyres protection
Liability exclusion for tyres damage due to the circulation of the rented vehicle. The subscription of the service provides for the refund to the customer of the expenses, previously authorised by SRC Rent Car, incurred for the repair or replacement of the tyres, which can be proved by a regular invoice made out to SRC Rent Car. The service does not provide for the immediate repair of the car, which depends on the availability of the supplier in charge of repairing the vehicle. The Customer loses, however, all the benefits of the protection in case of negligent matter, malice way or having gross fault pursuant to article 1229 c.c. Cost is daily and varies according to the vehicle group rented.

Interior car protection
Liability exclusion for accidental damage caused to the passenger compartment of the rented car. The Customer loses, however, all the benefits of the protection in case of negligent matter, malice way or having gross fault pursuant to article 1229 c.c. Cost is daily and varies according to the vehicle group rented.

Mechanical parts protection
Liability exclusion for accidental damage caused to the mechanical parts of the rented car. The Customer loses, however, all the benefits of the protection in case of negligent matter, malice way or having gross fault pursuant to article 1229 c.c. Cost is daily and varies according to the vehicle group rented. Negligence, wilful misconduct and/or gross negligence shall be defined merely by way of example and not exhaustively as conditions in which the Customer has aggravated the extent of the damage due to a failure to report to the Lessor damage indicators or faults while driving and/or damage aggravated by irresponsible forced driving. Furthermore, this guarantee does not cover damage resulting from misfuelling, contaminated fuel, frozen fuel, all costs associated with recovering the vehicle and the cost of re-fuelling after the vehicle has been repaired.

Extreme weather events protection
Liability exclusion for damage to the vehicle as a result of hail, whirlwinds, storms, hurricanes, landslides, mudslides, floods, avalanches, mudslides and floods. The Customer loses, however, all the benefits of the protecion in case of negligent matter, malice way or having gross fault pursuant to article 1229 c.c. Cost is daily and varies according to the vehicle group rented.

Misfuelling protection
Liability exclusion for damage caused for accidental misfuelling of the rented car, contaminated fuel, frozen fuel. The Customer loses, however, all the benefits of the protection in case of negligent matter, malice way or having gross fault pursuant to article 1229 c.c. t does not cover, in any case, any costs associated with recovering the vehicle and the cost of re-fuelling following repair of the vehicle.

Prepaid fuel service
Accepting this service, Customer will have the opportunity to return the vehicle without refueling and without any cost increase. One of the many benefits of purchasing this service will be to block the fuel price (sold at prices above the desk) and to avoid the refueling service.

Out of hours charge
Sicily Rent Car allows to pick up the car after the closing time of most of their offices. Request has to be agreed in advance with the concerned department, at the cost of € 50,00 if the pickup will be before midnight. If the pick time will be after midnight, the extra charge will be € 70,00. The pick-up of the car in not allowed after 01:00 am.

Additional driver
It is possible to add to the rental agreement an additional driver with a surcharge of € 7,00 per day.

Delivery and/or drop off
It is possible to arrange a delivery or drop off of the car in a different place from SRC Rent Car rental offices at a cost of € 50.00 in urban areas, based on the closest SRC Rent Car office. Car delivery and drop off is € 80,00.

Total refund guaranteed
By purchasing this service, in case of cancellation, the Customer is entitled to a full refund of the prepaid reservation amount. The cancellation can be requested up to 6 hours before the pick-up of the car.

Premium road assistance
In case of car accident, tyre puncture, tyre damages, damages caused to the mechanical parts, theft, fire or damages in general, the 24/7 road assistance included for free in the rental provides the vehicle rescue and recovery but not the passengers transport. However the purchase of this service guarantee the Customer’s refund of the transport costs (taxi, train or coach), previously authorized by SRC Rent Car, incurred for the return of all the people on board the car at home, hotel or nearest SRC rental station in cases where a car replacement is provided.

All extras are available on our offices and could be added to the booking.

Prepaid reservationsadd

  • Prepaid reservations can be modified by the Customer for free. Such change could cause an increase or a decrease in the fare, related to the varied features of the rental. If the Customer changes the reservation and new fare is higher than the prepaid amount, the Customer will be charged for the difference according to the current fares at the time that the change is done. If the Customer changes the reservation and new fare is lower than the prepaid amount, no difference will be refunded to the Customer.

 

  • Customer is allowed to cancel the prepaid reservation up to 3 days before the pick-up date with a penalty of 30% of the reservation amount, the cancellation request must be sent by filling out the dedicated form attaching the ID card. The refund will be arranged by SRC Rent Car within 10 working days from the date of cancellation request. For cancellations made within 3 days before the pick-up date, the whole amount of the prepaid reservation will be kept as a penalty.

 

  • No refund is due from SRC Rent Car if the Customer doesn’t show a credit card on his name  for the deposit, for the rental of car groups HLMST V. However, subject to availability, a lower category vehicle that does not require the use of a credit card will be offered.

 

  • No refund is due from SRC Rent Car if the Customer cancels a previously modified reservation or if the Customer does not show up on the established pick-up date and has not modified or cancelled the prepaid reservation according to the above terms. In case of delay, and in the absence of a communication from the Customer, SRC Rent Car guarantees the delivery of the car up to 6 hours after the pick-up time of the reservation, but in any case before office closing time.

Reservations with payment on arrivaladd

If the chosen rate provides for payment of the rental on arrival, within 3 days of confirmation of the booking and in any case 3 days prior to collection of the vehicle, you must provide a credit, debit or prepaid card to guarantee the booking, no fee will be charged in advance. In the event of failure to collect the booked vehicle or in the event of cancellation of the booking within 3 days of the pick-up date, we will charge the first day of rental. In the event of non-receipt of the form with the card details as well as in the absence of communication from the Customer, SRC Rent Car may proceed to cancel the booking without prior notice.

Additional charges add

Traffic fine and toll
The Customer is obligated to pay all the traffic fines elevated during his rental and every unpaid toll. The Customer has to pay to SRC Rent Car € 39.00 as reimbursement of handling fees for each fine received and handling fees for each unpaid toll. The above fee will be due even if the driver has high fines while acting in terms of legality and lawfulness of hearing was granted a court order.

Refueling service charge
Vehicles are delivered with a full tank. If the car will be returned with less fuel, Customer will be charged for missing liters plus the refueling service of € 25,00.

Young/old driver
Drivers between 18/23 and 76/80, can only access the rental of cars belonging to group A A1 B B1 C D E F, upon payment of a fee of € 15,00 per day.

One way charge
Upon request and authorization by Sicily Rent Car, you can return the vehicle to a different rental station from the pick-up. The cost depends on the rate formula in force and the station of return.

 

Check-out of the caradd

During delivery of the vehicle, the Customer undertakes to check its condition and equipment together with the personnel assigned by the Lessor and, in particular, to verify that the vehicle is in perfect working order, with the equipment indicated in the Rental Agreement and free from any merchandise or additional goods and undertakes to return it in the same condition, except for wear proportionate to the duration of the rental and the mileage travelled. It is the Customer’s responsibility to notify the personnel assigned by the Lessor of any discrepancy with respect to what is indicated in the Rental Agreement and to ascertain it in discussions with the assigned personnel before collecting the car. Failing this, the Customer authorizes Lessor to charge for all the discrepancies found upon return of the vehicle by the personnel in charge with respect to the delivery status of the vehicle. The vehicle in question is provided with a full tank of gasoline otherwise specified on the rental agreement and must be returned at the end of the hire period with the same amount of fuel; should the Customer fail to do so, he/she must pay the cost of the missing fuel as well as a surcharge for the refuelling service according to the rates specified in the official booklet.

Travelling Abroad
It is allowed to drive the vehicle only in Italy.

Where to park
SRC Rent Car vehicles do not have passes to access the restricted traffic zones (ZTL) of urban centers. The Customer will be responsible for providing any pass or tickets for the payment of parking fees.

Road assistance 24h
All SRC Rent Car rentals include free 24-hour roadside assistance provided directly by the car manufacturer or insurance coverage. In the event of a road accident, punctures, tyre damage, breakdown, theft and robbery, fire or damage in general, the Operations Centre shall send a rescue vehicle to resolve the cause of the breakdown on site, or shall tow the vehicle to the nearest workshop authorised by the manufacturer or contracted with the Operations Centre or SRC Rent Car. In the event of breakdown assistance on a day or time when the garages are closed, the vehicle shall be stored at a depot until the garages reopen. In the event that the breakdown of the vehicle is attributable to the Client, SRC Rent Car shall not be held responsible for the downtime necessary to restore the vehicle, therefore no claim for refund, equal to the days of rental not used, shall be granted to the Customer. Roadside assistance does not include, in any case, the transport of passengers of the rescued vehicle.

In case of an accident
In case of accident, the customer must fill out the form with the CID counterpart and return it to our nearest SRC Rent Car office within 24 hours after the event. In case of accident with fault or other damaging Customer has to pay € 90,00 which is an “collision and repair fee”.

In case of theft or fire
The Customer is required to inform immediately SRC Rent Car by phone and / or email about the event, to go to the nearest Police Authority which will issue a copy of the report to be transmitted to the rental station within 24 hours. The keys of the vehicle and the original report of theft must be delivered to SRC Rent Car by the end of the rental.

Replacement car
SRC Rent Car does not guarantee the replacement of the vehicle with another vehicle in the event of a road accident, puncture, tyre damage, breakdown, theft and robbery, fire or damage in general. However, subject to availability, the Customer is required to release an additional security deposit, if provided for in the rate conditions, to guarantee the replacement vehicle. In the event of breakdown of the rented vehicle, not attributable to the Customer, SRC Rent Car shall, subject to availability, provide for the replacement of the vehicle if it is not in a condition to be restored. In the event of lack of availability, SRC Rent Car shall provide a refund equal to the rental period not used by the Customer. In the event of a breakdown attributable to the Customer, SRC Rent Car shall not guarantee replacement of the vehicle if it is not in a condition to be restored. In the event of lack of availability, no refund shall be made for the rental period not used by the Customer.

Extension of the rental
It is possible to extend the rental after the notification from the Customer and authorization from  SRC Rent Car. The Customer is required to contact SRC Rent Car before the expiry of the rental agreement in order to schedule a new date for the return of the car.

Grace period
Customer commits to return the vehicle in the place and at the date and time indicated on the Rental Agreement. Duration of a rental day is 24 hours calculated from the time of collecting the vehicle plus 30 minutes of tolerance, after which its hall be charged an additional day.

 

 

Check-in of the caradd

The Customer is obliged to return the vehicle and the keys to the Lessor at the place and on the terms indicated in the rental agreement with all accessories and in the state in which he received it. If the cars are returned at a station other than the initial station, the Customer is obliged to pay a surcharge according to the official brochure. The Customer is obliged to return the vehicle as soon as the Lessor requests it. In the event of failure to return the vehicle, the Lessor is entitled to recover possession of the vehicle by any means, even against the Customer’s will and entirely at the Customer’s expense. The Customer acknowledges that the rental period will end on the date and time of receipt of the vehicle and its keys by the Lessor, therefore the vehicle must always be returned at the time and place stipulated in the Rental Agreement, and in any case during the opening hours of the agency, which the Customer will have to inspect and obtain information about. If the Customer is authorised to return the vehicle during the office closing time, the Customer may return the vehicle to the collection points previously communicated by the Lessor and return the keys in a special box. In the case of authorised delivery of the car during closing time, for the purposes of the imputation of the liability deriving from the possession of the vehicle, the rental shall end on the date and time of the reopening of the agency and only if the car has actually been taken over by the staff in charge. In any case of returning the vehicle during the office closing time, the Customer is in any case held liable for any damage found on the vehicle at the time of the reopening of the rental station, and is equally liable for the theft for any reason by third parties of the vehicle or the keys placed in the box. The Customer therefore remains liable for all damages (e.g. damage to the vehicle, fines, theft, fire, etc.) suffered/caused to the vehicle until the moment of its actual take-over by the agency, which will take place at the time of its opening to the public. At the reopening of the agency, the Lessor’s personnel will check the condition in which the car was returned and, if any discrepancies are found with respect to the conditions verified at the beginning of the rental, the Lessor, within 24 hours of the reopening of the agency, will notify the Customer at the email address indicated at the time of rental of the detection of the damage, supported by photographic documentation.

Car valuation and compensation policyadd

In the event of any accident, generally damaging event, total or partial theft or fire, the damages reported on the car will be quantified on the basis of a technical estimate made by an insurance expert registered with the National Register of Insurance Experts, using software for estimating car damages, with updated repair price lists and timetables approved by ANIA (National Association of Insurance Companies). If any of the aforementioned situations occurs, in addition to the amount of the estimated damage, an administrative cost of €90.00 will be charged, for the production of the valuation and notification of the proposed charge, in addition to any vehicle recovery expenses and damage resulting from technical stoppage, or an amount determined according to the official rental rates in force, equal to the amount due if the rental had continued for a period similar to the time required to carry out the repairs and find spare parts. In the event of theft of the vehicle, fire, misfuelling, contaminated fuel or frozen fuel, the Customer shall be liable to pay for the full amount of fuel. In respect of any claim in general made by the Lessor, the Customer will have 3 working days from the dispatch of the notification to dispute by email to customercare@srcrentcar.com the amount communicated as compensation for the penalties, producing valid supporting documentation. If the object of the dispute is the quantum resulting from the expert’s report provided by the Lessor, the Lessor shall entitle the Customer to produce and send a certified valuation report drawn up by a qualified professional appointed by the Lessor to examine the amount of the damages notified by the Lessor. Such claim will be considered by the Lessor only if it is accompanied by another certified valuation report drawn up by a professional registered with the National Register of Insurance Experts. If no dispute or valid documentation is received within 3 working days of the notice of charge, the amount notified will be collected.
